Our Story
In 2025, I acquired Rooftop Safety USA from Jim Brewer who was retiring. Jim was determined for decades to make an impact on raising practical safety standards in the trades such as the chimney service industry. Jim was integral in helping the National Chimney Sweep Guild reach an agreement with OSHA on fall protection requirements and it certainly made a tremendous difference for the entire industry.
He was also passionate about respiratory safety. As an EMT and trained first responder, Jim understood the importance of lung health for the trades. The biggest hurdle, however, was business owners didn't fully understand what goes into respiratory safety compliance. He worked hard to educate individuals and owners about the requirements over the years.
When I picked up the company I saw the same gaps. I have a HAZWOPER background (anhydrous ammonia) and helped oversee the respirator safety program for a refrigerated warehouse facility for several years. So I knew the gaps, while they were present, were easily overcome. To do this, I decided it was time to create a new division of Rooftop Safety USA that focused entirely on helping companies establish and maintain a compliant respirator safety program.
I'm excited to see how things will go and am passionate about helping people take care of their employees. In a punny sort of way, I hope that this process helps everyone breathe a little more easily.
